More Than Just Tissue!

Leviticus 17:11
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul."


This sentence, which contains a most important truth, had existed in the Mosaic writings for thousands of years, before the attention of any philosopher, phlebotomist, bio-ethicist or activist judge was drawn to the subject. That the blood actually possesses life, and that the life of the whole body is derived from it, is a doctrine of revelation by God Almighty. And it is a doctrine which the experiments of the most accurate anatomists have served strongly confirmed.

The value of the life is the measure of the value of the blood. This gives the blood of Jesus Christ its inconceivable value. When it was shed the sinless God-man gave His life. Confer with Hebrews 10:4-10,

"4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all."

Even poets & novelists - Sinclair Lewis, Edith Wharton, Christopher Marlowe, Bernard Shaw and Sherwood Anderson - have alluded to the symbol of bloodlessness as a metaphor for lifelessness. Think about the common & familiar phrase, "A bloodless marriage".

You could, to be sure, modify the phrase and consider that liberals and progressives as bloodless! They are fixated with death, moreso ironically, because they accuse Christians of the very thing they're guilty of. Their death obsession includes Abortion. Euthanasia. Right to Die. Eugenics. And, Godlessness, which is the death of the soul. It's sad, but true, friends.

To Be Or Not To Be

Arizona's ban on abortions starting at 20 weeks of pregnancy will take effect this week as scheduled after a federal judge ruled Monday that the new law is constitutional.

U.S. District Judge James Teilborg wrote that the state provided "substantial and well-documented" evidence that an unborn child has the capacity to feel pain during an abortion by at least 20 weeks.
The abortion-rights groups' lawyer said during the hearing that the ban on abortions crosses a clear line on what U.S. Supreme Court rulings permit, and it intrudes on women's health decisions at a key point in pregnancy. Read the entire article here.

However, what about the unborn child? What about intrusions on the child's right to due process?

Under the 14th Amendment, guarantees are made that no state shall “deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” The fifth section gives Congress the power to enforce, “by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.” The framers of the Constitution had no idea that there would be a day in which the godless would be sitting in court benches, legislative chairs and even behind that famous oak desk in the Oval Office. Had that known what treachery against the unborn would be perpetrated, I think (in my humble opinion) that a clear definition of "person" would have been included to remove any doubt. Remember, the majority of the founders of this great Nation were Christian.

And, while the Arizona law is a good starting point, it neglects to address the problem head on. An unborn child is a person at the point of conception, as per Leviticus 17:11, among other Scriptural reference.

The Blood That Gives Me Strength From Day to Day

Blood carries gases, nutrients and waste products through the body. Blood also fights infections, heals wounds and performs many other vital functions. There is no substitute for blood. It cannot be made or manufactured. Donors are the only source of blood for patients who need it. One unit of blood can be separated into components: red blood cells, white blood cells, plasma, platelets and cryoprecipitate.

Blood becomes vascular. Those vessels open into the stream of the circulating blood. Critical exhange of gases, nutrients, etc. take place every second at this juncture.

The American Blood Center, in its website, makes this plea to its readers:

While you're reading this, someone in America needs blood:
  • Blood is needed every two seconds.
  • About 1 in 7 people entering a hospital needs blood.
  • Blood is always needed for treatment of accident victims, cancer patients, hemophiliacs and surgery patients.
  • Blood cannot be manufactured or harvested.
Our blood supply comes from caring donors like you. When you give blood, you give someone another laugh, another hug, another chance.

Donate blood. It's about one hour of your time. It's About Life.

Indeed, it IS about life!

It's very telling that these folks are very concerned about helping those in dire need of blood. As Christians, shouldn't we be just as concerned about the eternal life of these same individuals who have a dire need of the Blood of Jesus Christ? Of course they do! What are you doing about it, Believer? Remember in Hebrews 9:22, which states, "And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission."

Who are you goint to tell today about their need for the Blood?

A Christian Blood Drive

In reaching out the unsaved, think about it in this simple flow chart:

1. Ecclesiastes 12:7 states, "Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it."

2. Hebrews 9:27 declares, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

3. Romans 14:12 concludes, "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

So, Reader, if you were to die today, how would you say you've lived your life: for yourself or for God? There is no admittance to heaven without the necessary, prerequisite seal of the Holy Spirit: salvation through faith in Jesus Christ's atoning death for your sins (Rom. 10:9-13). Without it, you are lost and condemned to go to hell (John 3:36; Rev. 20:11-15).

4. John 10:10 indicates, "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

5. Ephesians 2:8-9 clearly says, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Will you be the one to stand up for Jesus? Christ demands it and the world needs it. And millions of unborn children are waiting for someone to defend them.

A Cosmic Accident Waiting to Happen

Acts 17:24-25
"God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;"


Today our young people in public school and in colleges are taught that they are but the product of blind chance & luck without God having planned them.

Psalm 139:14-15 indicates, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth."

They are taught that they are but an accident of nature, the result of undirected natural forces coming together, that they are alive for but a while and then, upon death, will break down into basic elements and will no longer be.

According to the ungodly, there is no God. But, we know what they are; they are fools (Ps. 14:1). In this mental schema, nobody cares for them or loves them; there is no future existence and no meaning or purpose to life. Life is bleak, short and chaotic.

With this outlook on life is it any wonder that today there is an epidemic of depression and emotional issues among young people? Or again, is it any wonder that crime and anti-social behavior is so prevalent? After all, if I am here but for a few years, why shouldn’t I get what I want, when I want it? The attitude - which is found also in antiquites (I Cor. 15:32-33) - is of the world and not of God. What they have been told to believe, directly affects how they think and behave and, of course, because they assume it to be true they don’t check out what science really reveals.

I wish I had the time to delineate how science reveals, and not rejects, God's hand in nature and creation. I wish you had the time, Reader, to read about it, too. But, we're always on the go and short on time. Alas, comfort yourselves in knowing & believing that we are not on this earth by luck. This is no cosmic casino we're living in. We are here by design, God's design.

The bleak message of atheism allows a society to slide into further corrupted thinking; it is a gateway to socialism, communism, Nazi-ism, genocide, euthanasia, abortion, gay marriage, and on and on and on. All sorts of deviant lifestyles are promoted under the banner of godlessness.

Listen up, many atheists express a strong hatred of God. If you're an atheist reading this post, can I ask you something? How can you strongly hate Someone you don’t believe in? How can you stamp your feet and shout down those who believe in the true & living God? Mr. Atheist, you might ask, "Since when do I stamp my feet and shout?" Well, sir, in a manner of speaking, this happens every time when nativity scenes are displayed during Christmas or when a cross is erected as a monument or when a person opens up a meeting, sporting event or other gathering in the name of Jesus. Oh, my Mr. Atheist! By then, you are hissing at the Christians with threats of lawsuits and removal of sign or semblance of our faith unless we sit down and shut up!

The reality is that many atheists have their own personal agenda and bias for not believing in God and it has nothing to do with scientific research at all. They are angry at God or at their parents or both for some let down. However, God doesn't want the atheists to perish (John 3:16; II Pet. 3:9). Whether or not atheists believe it, God loves them, too!

Don't be fooled by scientific claims that the world came to be through a long series of accidents, coincidences and sheer luck. Christian, it takes more faith to believe in man's belief system than to trust in God Almighty's promises. This is what Isaiah 1:18 invites you to consider -

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

As the influence of Christians wanes - not because the Gospel is impotent - it wanes because the world has blinded those who refuse to believe in God (II Cor. 4:3-6). Think about this way: God doesn't believe in atheists, either. One day, there'll be a pay day for the unbelieving (Rom. 6:23; Rev. 20:11-15).

Don't be one of them. Don't take a chance with eternity, and settle your account now and see that God good and merciful! I Want Mercy, Jesus!

National Day of Prayer

I Thessalonians 5:17
"Pray without ceasing."

We are way beyond moral decline; it seems that we don't even bat an eye at the depraved & degenerate actions of men & women around this Nation, whether on tv, the internet or the newspaper. Our economy has been under turmoil as a result of dangerous liberal ideas that place us at the mercy of the money-lenders (Prov. 22:7). The United States military is hamstrung by politicians & diplomats whose idea of compromise reeks of spinelessness. As a Nation, we can't even support Israel in the Middle East conflict. And then there's the ever-increasing assaults against our religious liberty and the Constitution. Finally, there are the thousands of unborn children who are murdered because of the blood-thirsty, godless feminist movement whose de facto headquarters are found in places such as Planned Parenthood.

In times like these, we need a Saviour. In times like these we need the Holy Bible. We need Jesus Christ to return to public & civic life in America. It begins with us Christians. It begins with prayer. And continues with prayer.

Dear, Christian, please continue to pray and beg God for mercy. Stand in the gap and pray without ceasing. Especially pray for the unborn. Pray for the Lord to open the eyes of the women who are making decisions to kill their babies, that they repent from their decision. Also pray for the men and others who are pushing these women to make a decision that they'll have to live with the rest of their lives.

The video below presents incredible in utero images of the miracle of life. No one but no one can deny that life begins at conception. You literally have to look the other way, intellectually speaking, to consider this child "tissue" or a "fetus". The video was made in 2011 or thereabouts and was shown as part of the Sanctity of Life week.

The Heritage of the LORD

Psalm 127:3-5
"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate."

When I came across  Frans Hofmeester's time-lapse video of his little girl, I couldn't help but smile, laugh and cry because I have 6 daughters (yes, six!) of my own. Each one is growing up too fast for my liking. Each one grows into a beautiful young lady. And when I read the above quoted Scripture, I can't help but praise God for making me the richest man in the world because He has blessed me with six (yes, six!) beautiful daughters. To God be the glory!

Dear Reader, do not think for one moment and be fooled that Mr. Hofmeester's little girl's development began at birth. This child began developing in utero. In fact, Psalm 139:14-16 declares, "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

Only God knows you best because He made you. Don't think for one second that your existence here on earth was by chance or luck. Only fools gamble. Secondly, don't believe that your existence on earth at this particular moment is coincidental. You were born according to His plan, not your parents'.

I want you to know something else, friend. You might not know this. Perhaps you do. But, I'm going to challenge you today to make a decision to either believe man or to believe & trust in God. Open your Bible and read this passage for yourself and tell me who you will place your trust in.

"As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all."  (Eccl. 11:5)

Reader, what does God say in this passage? He says that you (and not just you personally, but all men) do not know how the Spirit works or how bones grow. God states quite plainly that you don't know God's works.

How are bones separated from the other flesh? How do they grow out of them and hardened? How do the hundreds of cells know which way to migrate within the egg and develop into eyes, ears hands and feet, heart and brain? How do the more solid and substantial parts of the baby's body strengthen while other parts seed are converted into skin and flesh; sinew and marrow?

To put it bluntly and succinctly, only God knows.

I'm sure there is plenty of scientific research that shows the embryo's development and many theories as to human development. Somehow, though, science is at its best when it describes God's creations, whether it be geological entities, the discovery of new universes or the observation of a micro-cellular event such as in utero development. Science is at its worst when it prescribes the reason why things are the way they are.

Therefore, Reader, neither you nor I are cosmic accidents. We are here because God willed us to be here. And, if we are wrought by His mighty and loving hand then no one - NO ONE - has the right to murder an unborn baby. By God's word, abortion (ie, murder) is wrong. According to the Declaration of Independence, it is a denial of God-given rights. Consider:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness." Thus, God's work agrees with His word. We can't say that about men. The framers of the Declaration thought this as well, which is why they declared that Government secures these God-given rights and does not bestow them.

And as it pertains to unborn children, their rights and the right to due process are denied when laws are enacted to murder them without due process.

So, who are you going to trust? You can't have it both ways. God will not share His glory with any man.

Children are a precious resource that is God sent and God given. Let's all work hard to protect the rights of every living being, born and yet-to-be born.

When Is Life Life?

Leviticus 17:11a, 14
"For the life of the flesh is in the blood"

"Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof"

The answer to the question posed in the post title is this: Life is life when there is blood in the flesh.

During the week after fertilization, the fertilized egg attaches itself to the uterine wall. This marks the week where the embryonic period begins According the medical experts, the fetus is connected by the umbilical cord to the placenta, the organ that develops and implants in the mother's uterus during pregnancy. Through the blood vessels in the umbilical cord, the fetus receives all the necessary nutrition, oxygen and life support from the mother. Note that it's through the blood vessels.

Children are a heritage from the Lord (Ps. 127:3) and are not meant to be thrown away or killed. Even God warned the children of Israel not to pass their children through the fire as sacrifices to Molech (Lev. 18:21; Jer. 32:35).

In the picture, ten models, approximately life-sized, represent eight weeks of embryonic development, at the end of which main organ systems, limbs and features have taken shape. The heart takes shape through stages represented by 4 to 10 of this series of models. Microvessels continue to exchange respiratory gases and nutrients between different tissues throughout embryonic and fetal development, through birth, and then life-long. The heart, ever-responsive to changing organic demands, maintains fluid communication and unity amidst the complexity of the tissues, day and night, year-in, year-out, life-long.

Are you still convinced that this little being is just tissue?

Reader, choose life! It's so precious in God's sight. Take a stand against those murderers by praying for God's merciful hand to open their eyes of understanding so that they'll repent. Also, pray for the women who are duped into believing that they're only recourse is abortion. The repercussions of abortion are life long for these women. Pray that they'll find forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

Unborn children around the world need your prayers! So, pray without ceasing!
